Wilderness Escape & Expedition Kayaks

The Wilderness on Water Experience

Journey to a wilderness escape where time stands still

Challenge and adventure, remote and magnificent landscapes, expert leadership – join us on an adventure exploring the wilderness waterways of Bathurst Harbour and Port Davey in southwest Tasmania, Australia’s island state, with a paddle in your hand.

Australia's ultimate multi-day sea kayaking expedition

Southwest Tasmania has been named "the most magnificent paddling destination in Australia" by Australian Geographic Outdoor Magazine and "one of the world's 10 epic sea kayak paddles" by Lonely Planet.

This area offers a combination of sheltered wilderness harbours, rugged ocean coastlines, remote islands and wild rivers. There are no roads and no settlements. We reach spectacular destinations in the best possible way – by water, at a paddling pace.

Who is best suited to sea kayaking?

Whether you’re a first-timer or you’ve had your fair share of kayaking experiences, rest assured that Roaring 40ºs experienced guides know the Tasmanian wilderness better than anyone. We’ll guide you through sheltered wilderness harbours, ocean coastlines, remote harbours, and so much more.

Choose from our 8-day or 4-day sea kayak experience or 7-day all-inclusive trip package. You should, however, be mindful that while previous kayaking experience is not necessary, each of these packages requires a sound level of fitness, comfortability with wilderness camping and keenness for adventure!

In addition to kayaking to incredible, remote locations, these trips will involve some bushwalking through terrain which could be affected by the elements. If you’re an adventure goer that spends your weekends travelling out to explore new, remote locations of Australia, this Tasmanian wilderness escape is just for you.
